Introducing Ed

Meet Ed the Genet

Ed is a Genet, a small African Carnivore who came to Manor Vets Exotics, Edgbaston for his castration procedure.

Take a look at his time with us throughout the procedure and recovery along with our Manor Vets team Lourdes, Faye and Kirsty

Did you know...

The common genet has a slender, cat-like body, a small head with a pointed muzzle, large oval ears, large eyes and well-developed whiskers up to 7 cm (2.8 in) in length. Its legs are short, with cat-like feet and semi-retractile claws. Its fur is dense and soft, and the coat is pale grey, with numerous black markings.

A genet is a member of the genus Genetta, which consists of 14 to 17 species of small African carnivorans.

Genets live alone or in pairs and are active mainly at night. They frequent forests, grasslands, and brush and are as agile in the trees as on the ground. They prey on small mammals and birds. Litters contain two or three young.
